About Coach Halonen

This is my fourth year at TH as your physical education teacher and I love my job! Before teaching P.E., I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades for 13 years in both the SRVUSD and the MDUSD. Then, I got the fabulous idea to combine two of my passions - teaching AND athletics! I grew up in the East Bay and played soccer and softball as a child and softball in college at the University of the Pacific. I LOVE the San Francisco Giants and am thrilled to have cheered for 3 championships since 2010, but let's just forget about last season! To stay healthy, I exercise by hiking, doing yoga, and doing CrossFit. I eat a lot of fruits, vegetables and tons of protein. I make sure to drink enough water daily and I get plenty of sleep. See you on the playground! If I'm not teaching a class, and you are at recess, ask me to play Gaga Ball! PE ROCKS! GO HAWKS!
