Student Recognition Project Announces 2019 Winners
Posted 3/12/19

The winners of the 2019 San Ramon Valley Student Recognition Project were announced at an Open House on March 11, 2019. This year, over 600 students entered 23 categories ranging from the performing arts to science from all four of the District’s comprehensive high schools as well as from Venture Independent Study School and Del Amigo High School.

Each of these projects was judged by professionals who are experts in their fields.   Some of the categories had over one hundred entries. A full list of this year’s winners can be found on the Student Recognition webpage.

“The Student Recognition Project is special to me because it provides an opportunity for students to pursue a personal interest or to extend what they may be learning in a class, to receive feedback on it, and potentially receive recognition. It is a pleasure to get to see and enjoy the products of their efforts at this Open House,” SRVUSD Board President Rachel Hurd said.

The Project is a partnership between the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and the business community. It encourages students to gain 21st century skills and knowledge through developing projects that inspire learning that extends beyond high school and into college and careers. The categories for submission align with the California industry sectors, as well as incorporate what is being taught in District classrooms.

Winners will be invited to attend an awards ceremony on March 25th at the Town of Danville’s Village Theater. The Student Recognition Project is possible thanks to sponsors which include: Fidelity National Home Warranty, Compass Real Estate - Jeff & Jan Bruno, Sunset Development, Ferber Law, A Professional Corporation, The Coder School - San Ramon, Huntington Learning Center, Louis Plummer, Tarkett, MeTEOR, All County Flooring and Sierra Installation Inc.
